Shirak Competitiveness Center is implementing “Creation of Farmer Unions in Shirak” project since 2007.
An agricultural union or an association will be able to address problems such as small volumes, weak bargaining power, high transportation costs, low quality, and access to markets. This solution can increase farmer income levels which will lead to decreased poverty in rural villages. The alliances or associations will aid the economic development of communities and allow for a more equitable distribution of income.
Currently, as a result of the project implementation we have 4 Unions in Jrapi, Pemzashen, Meghrashat and Akhuryan communities.
We plan to create 5 more Farmer Unions in Shirak
